What is RDA?

Today, we will learn about a new concept which takes the report of the database.
That is known as RDA

What is RDA?
RDA is the Remote Diagnostic Agent. A tool which is installed for Oracle Database

What will this do?
This will generate every reports which are necessary to check.

What is this used for?
This is used for investigating the things. Simply we can say for RCA(Root Cause Analysis).

How to take reports from the RDA?
We need to download the rda installer from the Oracle site.

Select the operating system which u wish to do this.
After installing, just run the report. And analyze it

What is the Use of It?
Now a days, Oracle Support is basing mostly on this report.

How to run it? See below steps.

Unzip the RDA file
tar -xvf rda.tar(If windows, Use any windows utility to unzip)

Install it.
rda.sh –cv

Run the setup.
rda.sh –S (rda –S if windows)

Run the report
rda.sh -v or rda.pl –v (rda –v if it is windows)

Finally, the report will be generated in the directory(in linux) or folder(in windows) with the name Output
